but queit 和but rather的区别

rather和quite区别:

1、rather和quite均可表示程度，但程度的高低不同，所表达的语气也不同，一般说来，rather比quite语气强，多用于贬义。

2、rather可以与比较级和副词 too (太)连用：The exercise was rather too difficult. 这练习太难了点。

quite修饰可比较的形容词时，意为”相当”。通常只限于身体健康如：That”s quite good./I’m quite better now.

3、修饰right, wrong, impossible, alone等不可比较，没有比较级最高级的形容词，通常只用quite。意为”十分或完全”。如：She is quite right.”：You’re quite right (wrong). 你完全正确(错了)。That’s quite impossible. 那完全不可能的。

4、quite和rather还可和动词连用，fairly则不可和动词连用。如：

This does not quite satisfy me. This does not quite satisfy me. 这没有完全使我满意。

I don”t quite follow you. t quite follow you. 我不大懂你的话。

5、quite和rather可修饰名词，置于“不定冠词+名词之前”。如：quite a good story, rather a strong wind。
