Thebriefpassage（有点儿长）:Severalyearsago,GrovetonCollegeadoptedanhonorcode,whichcallsforstudentstoagreenottocheatintheiracademicendeavorsandtonotifyafacultymemberiftheysuspectthatothershavecheated.Groveton'shonorcodereplacedasysteminwhichteacherscloselymonitoredstudents.Underthatsystem,teachersreportedanaverageofthirtycasesofcheatingperyear.

Thehonorcodehasprovenfarmoresuccessful:inthefirstyearitwasinplace,studentsreportedtwenty-onecasesofcheating;fiveyearslater,thisfigurehaddroppedtofourteen.Moreover,inarecentsurvey,amajorityofGrovetonstudentssaidthattheywouldbelesslikelytocheatwithanhonorcodeinplacethanwithout.SuchevidencesuggeststhatallcollegesanduniversitiesshouldadopthonorcodessimilartoGroveton's.Thischangeissuretoresultinadramaticdeclineincheatingamongcollegestudents.

基于我们之前3讲已经习得（也许吧）的概念，我们以一个逻辑点来解读这个指令：whatquestionswouldneedtobeanswered是什么意思？

我们可能发现一个偷换概念问题：文中说amajorityofstudentssaidthattheywouldbelesslikelytocheatwithanhonorcodeinplacethanwithout。意思是有这个honorcode的情况下比没有（这个honorcode的情况）下"不会去做弊。听起来有些道理。

但是，但是，但是，作者不是要比较honorcode和teachers’monitoring么？怎么去比较有honorcode和没有honorcode了呢？哄小孩儿呢？！

明确了这个逻辑疑点之后，我们解读指令：whatquestionswouldneedtobeanswered。也就是我们要问问作者：我知道有honorcode可能比没有好（有honorcode可能比没有的时候能控制cheating），我怎么知道学生觉得honorcode比teachers’monitoring更能抑制ta们cheating的想法和行为呢？这个比较真是滑稽。

嘲笑过后，我们开始写作。虽然我们心里的想法是thecomparisonshouldbebetweenthehonorcodeandthesystemofteachermonitoring，我们写作的时候要应对着指令的要求来写：Althoughthehonorcode,accordingtothemajorityofstudents,mayeffectivelydetermoststudentsfromcheating,didthestudentsalsosaythattheywouldbelesslikelytocheatwiththehonorcodethanwiththeteachers’monitoringsystem?Withoutansweringthisquestion,itisunfairfortheauthortosuggestthatthehonorcodewouldbemoreeffectivethanteachers’monitoringinreducingcheating.

看到加粗斜体字的部分（问题）了么？有点get到point了？我们再看一个逻辑点巩固一下：

短文的论证中有一个它因问题：Thefewercasesofcheatingmaybeduetothedecreaseinthelevelsofdifficultyofthetests,thecaseinwhichstudentsfindcheatingunnecessary.怎么加工成应对指令的形式？如下：Theauthorshouldalsoconsiderwhetheritwasbecauseofthehonorcodethattherehadbeenfewercasesofcheating.Arethereanyotherfactorsthatcouldalsohaveledtothereduction?Forexample,ifthelevelsofdifficultyofthetestsdecreasedwhenthehonorwasinplace,somestudentswhowouldhaveotherwisecheatedwouldnotcheat.
