常理上,人们预想,随着社会的发展,年轻人会更独立自主。可不幸的是,当下的年轻人却越来越依赖父母。这虽是不幸,却是不争的事实。

Ithasbeenexpectedthatyoungpeoplewouldbelessdependentonparents.However,unfortunately,youngpeopleoftodayaremoredependentonparentsthanbefore.Itseemslikeacurse,butsadlyitisthetruth.

首先,年轻人在经济上更依赖父母。社会的车轮滚滚向前,人们的生活没有变好反而更糟。为了生活,人们必须付出更多。为了支付各种生活帐单,青年人感到筋疲力尽,甚至绝望。比如,在中国上海这样的大城市,人们至少需要花费50万美元才够买房买车,结婚生子。试想,有多少20出头的年轻人手头握有如此巨额的存款?对于大多数人而言,这是个天文数字。别无他法,他们只能选择做啃老族"。没有父母的帮助,几乎没有年轻人能在大城市里生活下去。而在过去,生活虽然简单,成本却很低。人们大概只需工作5年,便能住得起房子,过得上享受的生活。过去买房子,结婚和养孩子的成本也比现在低得多。

Firstly,youngpeopledependmoreonparentseconomically.Theprogressofsocietyhasnotmadelifeanyeasierbuttougher.Peopleneedtopaymorefortheirsurvival.Theyoungareexhaustedandevendespairedbythosesundrybills.Forexample,ayoungpersoninShanghai,abigcityofChina,needshalfamilliondollarstobuyanapartmentandautomobile,togetmarriedandrareachild.Howmanypeoplewhoareintheirearly20scanhavehalfamilliondollarsdepositsintheiraccounts?Forthemajority,thissumisastronomical.Withoutanyalternative,theyhavetoturntoelderlyparentsforsupport.Asamatteroffact,noyoungpeoplecansurviveinabigcitywithouttheaidfromtheirparents.Bycontrast,inthepast,thoughsimple,lifecostmuchless.Averagely,peopleneededtoworkfiveyearstoestablishafamilyandleadadecentlife.Thecostofthepastforbuyinganapartment,affordingamarriage,andrearingachildwasnegligiblewhencomparedwiththatoftoday.

其次,年轻人在家庭生活上更加依赖父母。一方面,他们整天埋头工作,或沉迷于一些爱好,比如网络游戏,以至于忽视了自己的恋爱和婚姻等人生大事。家长们着急不堪,只能越俎代庖。这就是为什么,在中国通常参加相亲大会的都是父辈或祖辈。他们互相吹嘘着自己的孩子,渴望在婚姻中给孩子们提供巨大帮助。另一方面,大部分年轻人结婚生子后,并没有精力和耐心照看孩子。他们更愿意外出工作,或迫于生活外出打拼,以支付昂贵的生活开销。于是,父母们就自然而然地成为了保姆和仆人。要是没有父母的帮助,要么夫妻双方中任一方在家照看孩子,要么花钱请专业保姆,而后者的费用也不是一般家庭所能承受的。

Secondly,youngpeopledependmoreonparentsinlife.Ontheonehand,theyoungaresoburiedinworkorobsessedwiththeirhobbies,likecomputergamesoronlinechats,thattheyevenignorethebigaffairsintheirlife,suchasdatinggirlsorgettingmarried.Theparents,worriedanddesperate,havetocomeuptohelp.Thatiswhyinthespeed-datingprogramsorspeed-datingfairs,parentsandevengrandparentscrowdtheplace,describingandevenboastingthevirtuesoftheirchildreninthehopeofmakingsomecontributiontotheirchildren’smarriage.Ontheotherhand,theyounghaveneithertimenorpatiencetotakecareofthenewlybornbabies.Theyaremorewillingtoworkinoffices,orforcedtoworkasahorseinordertopaythefamilybills.Naturally,parentsbecomebaby-sitters,cooksorhousemaids.Withoutthesupportfromparents,oneofthecouplehastostayhomebaby-sitting.Asanalternative,thecoupleneedstohireababy-sitter,whichisalwayshigh-paidandnotaffordableforeverycommonfamily.

综上所述,我必须重申,如今的年轻人比过去的年轻人更依赖于父母,经济上如此,生活中也如此。他们所面临的巨大生活压力使得他们不得不向父母求助。似乎,社会的发展应该给人们带来轻松和自在,但事实上并非如此。
